Erica Weiner Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Ring

This lovely late 18th century piece features a central .32ct rose cut diamond in an usual gold collet. The standard treatment for diamonds in the Georgian period was to mount them in silver (like the diamonds decorating the shoulders of this piece). The tripartite shoulders feature a scroll shape at the north and south sides and a silver central component affixed with rose cut diamonds in rub over settings on either side. Please use caution when wearing this ring, remove it when showering or washing dishes—the settings are closed and they can trap liquid which may cause the foil backing beneath the stones to oxidize and darken.
