‘Ring Cam’ engagement ring box films your partner’s reaction as you pop the big question
Capture the moment they say ‘yes’ (or no) in high-definition video
In an age of ubiquitous cameras and social media, many people are desperate to capture and share every moment of their lives.
Marriage proposals tend to be a private moment between two lovebirds – although in the past few years there has been a trend for showmance: grand romantic gestures that you capture on camera and share for all to see – perhaps even pocketing some YouTube advertising revenue in the process.
Thanks to Ring Cam, recording the moment you pop the question has become even easier.
The engagement ring box features a tiny camera and microphone that can capture the reaction of your loved one as you pop the big question. You only need to press a button the top of the box to start recording.

Given that it’s customary to get down on one knee to propose, the angle the camera records from isn’t the most flattering.
Despite this, you should end up with a video of the big moment that you can share with people who weren’t there.
The box itself costs $99 (£66.40) to rent for three weeks. If you pay a bit more Ring Cam will edit the video with your favourite photos.
You can even pay for a premium package to have a photographer secretly follow you and capture the event from another angle – but that costs a whopping $1499.99.
Currently Ring Cam is only available in the USA.
